7th,Nov,India,the Indian Rubber Bureau has revised the production of natural rubber production, consumption and import targets for the current fiscal year due to uncertainties in the global economy。

In 2019-20,rubber production was been revised to 730,000 tons, a decrease of 20,000 tons from the previous target. The rubber consumption forecast was revised to 1.14 million tons, which was previously estimated at 1.27 million tons. The import target is to repair 85,000 tons to 415,000 tons.

At the 179th Rubber Bureau meeting in Kottayam, Chairman Sawar Dhanania said that the current prospects for rubber production and consumption are not optimistic.

The global economy is in a difficult period, the economic outlook is overcast, and various uncertainties have adversely affected investor sentiment and consumer confidence. He said that this will have a pessimistic impact on all economic and industrial sectors.

He said weather conditions, exchange rate fluctuations, oil price volatility, speculative factors, and others may cause natural rubber market volatility. However, expectations of developing countries and emerging economies to recover and embark on a path of sustained growth are a comforting factor.

According to K N Raghavan, executive director of the Rubber Bureau, natural rubber production from April to September 2019 was 308,000 tons, an increase of 11.2% over the same period last year. He attributed the increase in production to the efforts of the Rubber Bureau to tap more uncut areas through holdings and acquisitions.

India's natural rubber consumption fell 7.6% year-on-year to 614,040 tons fromApril to Sepember 2019.In the same period ,Natural rubber imports  decreased by 13.9% year-on-year to 257,943 tons.
